The case for arriving on a Tuesday

Almost everything we love about a midweek camp is a side effect of other people being at work.

The trail belongs to you

The same 2.4 km walk in takes forty minutes on a Tuesday and seventy on a Saturday, because on Saturday you are sharing the path with everyone who had the same idea. Midweek, you often see nobody between the trailhead and camp.

Guides are fresher, and it shows

Our guides work a maximum of four trips a month. The Tuesday trip is usually the first of their block, which means the person cooking your dinner is not on their third consecutive campfire.

Wildlife did not get the memo about weekends

Deer move back into the meadow within a day of the weekend crowd leaving. If seeing animals is part of why you are coming, arrive on a Tuesday and stay two nights.

And the practical part

Ferries and regional flights are usually cheaper midweek, and we hold more availability — including the small camps that sell out first for weekends. If your dates are flexible at all, ask us what Tuesday looks like.
