About us
Ten seasons of putting people in the right place
Fern & Ember started with two tents and a borrowed truck. Today we run small hosted camps across the Pacific Northwest, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands — still with the same rule: never more than eight guests at a time.
Our guides are locals. They know which ridge catches the sunrise, where the water is safe to drink, and when to move camp because the weather is turning.

What people say after three nights outside
“We arrived with two kids and zero camping experience. Left with a nine-year-old who now wants to be a guide.”
Sarah M. · Bristol, UK
“The camp was set up before we got there. Coffee was already on the fire. That is a different level of hosting.”
Daniel R. · Portland, US
“Small group, no phone signal, three days of walking. Best money I have spent in years.”
Priya K. · London, UK
